This is how I potted my dendrobium orchid seedlings.P potting Dendrobium orchid seedlings is very easy. Dendrobium orchids grow well in a media that combines coconut husk chips,charcoal,and broken pieces of bricks. You can also use leca or hydroton pebbles.
In Kolkata,India, orchids thrive very well during winters when the temperatures are around 15-18 degrees Celsius.
Plant your Dendrobium orchids in self made plastic pots,or special clay pots designed for orchids.
After you plant the orchids this way,do not water for two to three days. Water the media only after the media has dried out on the top. Use a sprayer with a fine misting nozzle to spray on the media. DO NOT SPRAY ON THE LEAVES. If you do spray by chance,wipe off the excess immediately. Wipe off any excess water accumulated in the gaps between leaves.
Keep the Dendrobium orchids in a east or West facing window,where the plant gets sufficient bright sunlight,but see that the plant does not receive the hot afternoon sun. Or the leaves are going to burn.
