WFP to supply schools with locally grown grain in Karamoja region

WFP to supply schools with locally grown grain in Karamoja region The ministry of Karamoja says they are making an artificial lake in Karamoja which will be used to irrigate crops that are grown in the country. The state minister for Karamoja Moses Kizige explained the matter during a field visit, where it is found that the world food programme is putting emphasis on the home grown food, where communities in Karamoja can grow food and sell it to WFP. For their part, WFP distributes the food to schools. This year WFP has entered an agreement with farmers in the region to provide 80 metric tonnes of grains which meet world standards.#NTVNews
