Procrastination can be the enemy in our everyday life, something to overcome, something to defeat but to the storyteller it might be a wonderful gift. I want to discuss today that to a degree procrastination is actually helpful and beneficial. Procrastination when applied appropriately might just be another invaluable tool for authors.

Neil Charran is an American YouTuber and writer born in St. Albans, Herts., England on May 18th, 1974, is part Black/part Indian of Guyanese and Barbadian descent, raised in the Bronx, New York and resides in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Neil graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in psychology, University of New Haven with a master’s in conflict management and University of Connecticut with an MBA and currently works in finance.

Neil has been writing since he can remember and began the Gideon Star series when he had a dream on his commute about two men discussing vacationing on Mars. During the next three years he outlined the plots of each book and began writing the first novel - Gideon Star: The Shields of Gideon Prime. This work is a culmination of the fantasy epics he grew up with coupled with the desire to make a better world. Neil plans to focus his videos on the craft of storytelling and writing.

Gideon Star: The Shields of Gideon Prime is the first in a series of thrilling adult space fantasy tales of high adventure, action, martial arts, titillating passion, romance, suspense and intrigue that reflects a personal and social message about love, family and tolerance all set against the backdrop of a larger mystical universe.
