Dr Firoze Khan, whose appointment as assistant professor in the Sanskrit Vidya Dharam Vigyan faculty of BHU has triggered protests by a group of students, has now applied in Sanskrit dept of the university. Khan, a PhD holder in Sanskrit, hopes that his appointment in a different dept of the BHU will end the controversy around him. A group of BHU students are against a Muslim professor teaching them about Sanatan Dharma and Karmkaand. The students called off their 2-week-long protest after assurance from university.
