So a little bit of backstory to this installment... As you may know, Republic and WM had a large asset swap in a few areas of Texas over these past 1-2 years. Lewisville (which I visited earlier this year) was a transition from WM to now Republic. In a basic exchange, WM took over operations in both Austin, and Marble Falls, TX.
Fast-forward to July, when I took a small trip to the Austin area. I stopped by Manor, a town just outside of Austin, to hopefully find any old ex-Republic trucks being used by WM. Turns out, the driver explained that a few ZRs like these were sent to Austin, while some of the old Republic trucks that previously worked there were transferred to the DFW area. Although I didn’t find what I was looking for, now it’s a matter of tracking certain units down in my own stomping grounds haha.
Onto the video, even though it doesn’t feature the most interesting of trucks, it’s still a sweet Mack, which happens to be my favorite! Manor has a lot of cart history, so I saw lots of BFI carts in decent condition, even a few WMX and Laidlaw ones! There were carts from a deceased company called Action Disposal, which I believe was bought by Allied Waste long ago. Hope y’all enjoy!
