Today I'm going to show , how I test MAF ( Mass Air Flow ) or Air Mass Meters on different type of vehicles , brands and models . This video is targed for naturally aspirated engines only . For forced induction types of engines , the reading is going to be little bit different . We are going to use diagnostic tool to gather live data from every car : Intake air temperature , Mass Air Flow ( kg/h or g/s ) , Engine Speed and Barometric Pressure .
After that we are going to convert this data in the VE ( Volumetric Efficiency ) calculator , to see what is the Estimated VE on every engine .
For this test we are going to use these two cars :
1. BMW E36 , 2.8 L , R6 ( M52B28 ) 193 hp
2. BMW E38 , 5.4 , V12 ( M73B54 ) 322 hp
