Battery vs. Power Supply!

Battery vs. Power Supply! In today's episode we take a deep dive into the original isolated power supply, the 9V battery. We'll look at the pros/cons of using batteries versus a 9V isolated/regulated power supply and why some players might prefer one over the other. Please leave a comment with any questions regarding power supplies or batteries, and see the links below for all products discussed in the video. Please be sure to subscribe here:

NOTES:
One part mentioned in the intro, but not mentioned during the video (accidentally edited out), was regarding the "SAG" control on my popular power supplies, or battery simulators. The SAG control only controls from one variable - voltage (and not current), and leaves all else constant in most circumstances. Some manufacturers will attempt to use series resistors to simulate the battery resistance but again it's not variable and interplaying with voltage so the true "carbon battery" is not really simulated in this circumstance between the supply is too linear comparatively.

CORRECTION:
6/27/19, 7:48PM PST Danelectro Power Supply is Die Casted Aluminum, in the video I said it was made out of plastic. Price is also +/- $40.00 from most retailers.
