Cost effective alternative to HTV. Written instructions below: Materials:
1.Fabric to paint on (I used a shirt)
2. acrylic paint
3. Textile medium - I used Delta Creative Textile Medium 8fl oz
4. Freezer paper:
5. Parchment Paper
6. Sponge (makeup blending sponges work best but these dollar store ones will work too)
7. Magic Cover sticker vinyl (also got it at the Dollar Tree) to act as a Transfer paper
8. A blank gift card works just as good as an applicator tool. This helps to smooth out and adhere to the transfer paper
9. Cricut or Silhouette cameo machine
10. light grip mat
Steps:
1. Gather materials
2. Make your design
3. Cut your design on Freezer paper (shiny side down) at Washi Sheet Setting
4. Place transfer paper on top and peel off freezer paper
5. Reverse Weed (so you have a stencil)
6. Place shiny side down onto the fabric
7. Start peeling the transfer tape and ironing the freezer paper onto the fabric
8. Once the transfer tape is off, place parchment paper on top and iron again to ensure all tiny pieces adhere to the fabric
9. Place cardboard and parchment paper under the fabric so the paint doesn't bleed through to the second layer
10. Mix 1 part textile medium to 2 parts acrylic paint
11. Lightly dab onto the stencil/fabric
12. Once completely dry, peel off and weed any small freezer paper pieces that are stuck to the fabric
13. Place parchment paper on top again and iron on - no steam setting
14. This particular textile medium says it truly sets after 7 days but i've washed materials way before that and they were perfectly fine
15. Enjoy and Spread the word!
