There were two sharks at Bondi that morning, according to the men behind the Drone Shark application designed to protect beach-goers from shark attacks.

'I got a little worried for a second when it bypassed the salmon and followed the swimmer,' the Drone Shark Instagram caption read.

'We alerted them with our megaphone just to let them know it was very close.'

The grey nurse seemed disinterested in the nearby school of fish and made a beeline toward the swimmer.

'He's going quite close to that swimmer, bro. What's he doing?' one of the men said in the video.
'He was really interested, wasn't he?' one man said.
These guys don't usually show any interest in that,' the other man agreed.

'That was quite unusual behaviour,' the first man said.

GREY NURSE SHARKS
Grey nurse sharks are strong swimmers with protruding teeth that makes them seem intimidating.

They are quite slow compared to other sharks and prefer to hunt large schools of fish, crustaceans, squid, skates and smaller #sharks.

There are no confirmed human deaths from grey nurse shark attacks.

Grey nurses dwell in the waters of Japan, Australia, South Africa, the Mediterranean and the east coasts of North and South America.
