What is a trademark agent and how can they help you? Welcome to IP Somm, a weekly vlog dedicated to making Intellectual Property more palatable by mixing business with pleasure. Join registered IP agent and certified Sommelier Heather Boyd as she invites a variety of guests to talk about intellectual property (trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial design), and of course, wine and/or spirits.
In this episode, Heather and newly certified trademark agent Michelle Lacroix, from Pillar IP’s Toronto office, discuss the differences between trademark agents and lawyers, and why it’s so important to seek professional guidance of an agent or an IP lawyer for trademark registration.
To celebrate Michelle's new certification, Heather created a signature drink called Celebration G&T. Here’s the recipe:
Celebration G&T
- A few ice cubes
- Golden berries, halved
- Lemon slices
- Freshly squeezed lime and lemon juice
- A sprig of rosemary
- 1 ½ oz gin
- 1 tsp tonic syrup
- Fill with sparkling water
- Add agave syrup to taste
