If you're like me, you've downloaded payware content of over $60 from K&L Trainz and can't install them in Trainz because of an error saying, "failed to open (CDP File Name.CDP) for reading." You think, "Oh, I'll just try again, only to run out of attempts and still not be able to install the CDP files. You think, "man, now I have to repurchase them!" Before doing that, first see if you can get some of the files extracted from the corrupted file using this: (Click on the link that says, "CDP.Explorer.v3.0.zip " This program extracts content from CDP files and somewhat makes the corrupted CDP files usable as you can extract the individual content as a new uncorrupted file. Unfortunately, this is somewhat limited and some of the CDP files are so corrupted, only one or two files can be extracted. In that case, unfortunately, the only option is to repurchase the content again.
I wish K&L Trainz was more like Jointed Rail in that you can download something you purchased as many times as you want.
CDP files from K&L Trains seem to get corrupted when the internet speed is slow while downloading, or just every other attempt. It's really not clear what the pattern is...
