The fall is breeding season for moose — the time when males compete for the attention of females. In order to display, they grow their antlers big and fast! Growing 7cm every week, moose antlers are some of the fastest-growing mammalian tissue — and some sets can weight up to 40kg.

While the impressive weapons are used to ward off rivals, males also employ a more romantic approach to attracting the ladies. Using their very own home-grown 'perfume.'

This male starts by scraping out a shallow patch of ground and urinates in it, splashing himself all over with his musky "love potion." And some nearby females just can't resist!
