Sermon Message by Pastor Kevin Title: Remnant: Called for a time such as this!
- Our citizenship as a Remnant is in the Kingdom of God.
- Who is the Remnant?
1. They are non-conformists
Romans 8:29 NKJV
“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Romans 8:29 TPT
“For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like Him”.
- Jesus is the first born among many brethren.
- Jesus became the grain of wheat who fell to the ground and died.
John 12:24 NKJV
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
- We died with Christ and we have been raised with Christ.
- Now we are seated together with Him in Heavenly Places (Ephesians 2:6-8).
- We need to wake up to the reality of who we are in Christ.
- We do not conform to the world.
- Our highest calling is to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ!
- All of the world eagerly await the manifestation of the sons of God!
- It is time that we take our rightful place in the Kingdom of God!
- We are to have a heavenly perspective .
- We are to set our sights on things above and not on things of this world!
- We are ruling and reigning with Christ!
- God has given us the authority to trample over lions and scorpions.
- It is not a sin to be tempted, but it's a sin to give in to the temptation.
2. They are a peculiar people
1 Peter 2:9 AMP
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation,a [special] people – “a peculiar people”
- A Christian is the most powerful creature on earth!
- We are in this world, but not of this world!
- You carry on the inside of you, the supernatural power of God – the ability of Heaven
- You are powerful beyond measure.
- The Devil is defeated and Christ has the victory.
3. They are tenacious
Mark 10:27 “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
- We do not back down: We rise up!
- We are not afraid of the devil. The devil is afraid of us!
- We believe the Word of God and are careful to obey every Word!
- We must speak the Word of Faith and when our faith-filled words goes forth it produces and manifest!
- Greater is He that is in you, than the one who is in this world!
- Treat the devil like he is defeated because he is.
