In US news and current events today, a major factory farming debate has come to Trade Lake Wisconsin based on the St. Croix National Scenic riverway. The town commissioner sold city land to a major factory farming operation which plans to open up 35 acres of CAFO with hog farms near the St. Croix river and a state wildlife refuge. Local farmers and residents are extremely concerned about the massive among of hog waste that will be produced by the farm animals and this type of factory farming environmental impact. Pig farming in the USA is big business, but these locals don't want it.
