HISTORY
Benny Buras established "Benny's Hotel", in 1937. The Hotel originally faced the mighty Mississippi River. When the original Highway 23 was built, the hotel was turned to face the new highway. The hotel supplied accommodations for all the workers staying in our Parish during the great oilfield boom years. Boy, if these walls could talk...After many successful years in operation, Benny's Hotel closed it's doors due to uncontrollable circumstances. It remained vacant for many years. It was purchased, gutted and used for storage by Bubby Sercovich for a while. It was later purchased by Gerald & Georgiana Hingle. The Hingles undertook a huge renovation and "Tots & Teens" clothing store was established. A framing shop also operated out of this building . This old building has supplied a home for many dreams. In 1995, the old hotel became the home of Your's, Mine & Ours Thrift Shop. In 2001, I acquired the hotel from Earline Hingle Barrois. Your's, Mine & Ours remained open until August of 2005. Hurricane Katrina hit August 29, 2005. The town of Buras was under water! Thats when my mother Patty decided to turn her dream into a reality turn this historic building into a bed & breakfast. Her grand opening was Oct 2013. She then passed away just 8 months later. It's been 4& a half years and I'm turning the page on her dream keeping it alive. My name's Nicole and I'm now the owner of my mother's historical bed and breakfast in Louisiana.
We are 14 miles from Venice and 5 miles from Empire. We are centrally located from all the Marina's. We are a great location, if you are coming for the fishing rodeo's. We are not your average Hotel! Come let us accommodate you! Also an AWESOME seafood bar & grill restaurant right next door.
