An Open Letter to those People Who Feel Worthless
Have you ever experienced scrolling through your Facebook newsfeed and saw a certain post that made you feel, "I wish I was like that too?" Yes, I'm pretty sure everybody can relate to that because I myself too know what it's like to struggle with that feeling of not satisfying to certain expectations, whether they may be your own or someone else's. Well buddy, I'm here to tell that you are enough.
You are more than enough even with your flaws and insecurities. Even with your scars, body weight, acne and body marks. You are more than those things. Do not compare yourself to others because you are beautiful on your own way. You are worth it. You're still worthy even with your mistakes, failures and the dark things from your past. You failed your exams after giving all your best shot? That's fine, remember, grades don't define who you are. You don't have to condemn yourself for failing. You are important. You are important even sometimes you feel you're not and you feel unappreciated. You are valued and you don't need someone else's validation for it. You don't have to push yourself to the limit just to feel like you've proven yourself. You are more than the hurtful words you've heard from others. And let me just remind you, those words coming from other people are not the defining factors of who you really are. You're you and that's what matters.
I want to end this by telling how diamond experts determine the real one from the fake ones. Well guess what? The fake diamonds are perfect while the real ones have flaws. And that also applies to all of us. We're human and we're not perfect at all. Because of such pressure to always be perfect, we tend to judge and compare ourselves brutally against the lives of others. We will make mistakes hundreds and thousands of times but that doesn't make us less of a person. So now, if you're feeling down and sad, you better get up and let others see the real shine on you.
