According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire affected 700 square meters of the building. Several floors and the building’s roof were engulfed in the flames.
Fifty people and 12 vehicles were employed to put out the flames.
According to emergency services, the fire was rated as a second-degree blaze.
All visitors were evacuated by emergency services and there has been no reports of any injuries so far.
The flame reportedly started on the first floor of the shopping centre where stores and cafes are located. The flames later spread to other floors of the shopping centre.
The shopping mall "Grand Park" with the total surface area of 42,000 square meters is located in the centre of Grozny city.
