Goji Berry Benefits | How and Why I Eat Them In this video I explain several of the most significant health benefits of goji berry. Goji berries are a berry native to Asia that have grown in popularity in recent years and have been labeled a “superfood” by many health advocates. Goji berries have A LOT of benefits due to their nutritional density, but in this video I mainly focus on the benefits to our eyesight, our kidney and liver function as well as our immune system. They are great also for holistic health practices, meaning they can improve your general quality of life, such as increasing happiness, as demonstrated in this study:

Goji berry provides a specific antioxidant called Zeaxanthin that helps eyesight. Additionally, containing a huge array of antioxidants and other health-promoting micronutrients have made goji berries well-known in traditional Chinese Medicine to be supporters of kidney and liver function. Further, their high amounts of vitamins A & C make them a great immune system booster too. These great goji berry benefits are what I cover in the video and are only scratching the surface.

Goji berry has received some flak recently in health news, ever since Proposition 65 in California has mandated that all packaged foods that potentially contain heavy metals be labeled with warnings. This has resulted in goji berry, cacao, maca root, sea vegetables, various fish and many other foods to receive warning labels. However, their high antioxidant content make them extremely powerful for detox and negates the heavy metal concern, at least in my opinion. Don't dodge this superfood just because they have the potential to pick up lead from the soil they're grown in.
