There’s the idea that super rich people have a few weird quirks. But that crazy wealth doesn’t mean they’re neurotic.
The opposite is true; they’ve got exceptionally high levels of mental stability.
They’re also usually open to new things, and total extroverts.
Take it from a German researcher who just wrote a book on the topic called, “The Wealth Elite.”
Over 40 rich folks with net worth’s of at least $11 million took a personality test based on the “Five-Factor Theory of Personality.”
It’s dubbed “The Big Five” and was developed by psychologists at the National Institute of Aging.
The idea is that your personality is determined by five things: levels of neuroticism, openness to experience, extroversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness.
Results showed these wealthy types weren’t very neurotic, according to Business Insider.
Instead, they’re self-confident and stable.
They’re also more extroverted, open to new experiences and more conscientious.
On the flip side, they’re not very agreeable, and don’t run from conflict.
Forbes reports the super-rich are also more likely to make decisions based on gut feeling over detailed analysis.
In a previous study of 130 wealthy types, German economists and psychologists found rich folks were more narcissistic and more aware that they determine how their lives turns out, rather than relying on luck or fate.
