'What A Wonderful World' Adapted for 2019

Art is a powerful thing. It can evoke emotions, spur thoughts, spark conversations, uplift, depress, or bring about laughter, tears, anger, or a range of other emotions. Art is an expression of the artist, to be interpreted by the audience in any way it hits them. This is my art.

I am not trying to be political or start any fights. I just care about people. All people. Those I agree with, disagree with, have known all my life, or will never cross paths with during my walk on this earth. And, to be perfectly honest, I believe that the world described in Louis Armstrong’s original “Wonderful World” still exists. It exists in acts of love and kindness every day. But our world is not perfect. And I know we are capable of working towards creating more and more of that Wonderful World he sang about.

I pray that this piece gets people to talk. Really, honestly, and genuinely talk. Converse and discuss, and, most importantly, listen to each other.

I don’t have the answers. I truly wish I did. But I believe in the power of all of us to be able to search out and find those answers.
