I always figured that The Who had to be high or tripping on something when they wrote Pinball Wizard. I now know that Roger Daltrey probably wasn’t. I’m Christine Sclafani for The National Marijuana News and I have to admit, I was slightly taken aback when I heard about Roger chewing out his fans during one of their recent shows for smoking weed.
Seriously, he yelled F*** You at them and explained that he has a severe allergy to pot smoke and it makes it very hard for him to sing. I mean, that is the furthest thing from cool. Supposedly this isn’t the first time it's happened either. A number of interviews have even taken place asking him why he has such a dislike for weed when so many of his fans love it.
From his perspective he feels like everyone should just understand by now that he has a very real allergy and if they have come to see a quality show they should believe him and either eat edibles or go to the john to smoke. I can see his point, though crudely made. It’s kind of ironic that Roger Daltrey is allergic to weed smoke considering he is such a symbol of counterculture.
