The Interactive Luminosity Mask (ILM) extension panel for Photoshop helps you create both Luminosity and Saturation masks. You can create masks that target the Highlights, Midtones and Shadows. There’s also a Zone Mask option for even greater precision. The selections created with these options are previewed on the screen and you can use the feather controls to further refine the Luminosity Masks.
COURSE & TOOL LINKS
I’ve been so impressed by this free tool that I used it extensively in my Luminosity Masking course. You can view three sample lessons here including a further explanation of the ILM Tool’s controls. The lesson includes a direct link to download the tool.
You’ll find the ILM Tool in the Adobe Creative Cloud Exchange which is a great resource if you haven’t visited before.
