Does Obedience Matter If We are Saved By Grace?

Does Obedience Matter If We are Saved By Grace? One of the biggest reservations in moving from legalism to grace is whether or not people will take God's commandments seriously. If God is going to freely forgive us, then why obey at all?

This video explores nine reasons why obedience is more important once we understand grace, not less important.

Let me hear from you in the comments. Have you made this shift from legalism to grace? How has it affected your relationship with God?

PS - Let me clarify one point in the video. When I say we aren't obedient in order to be saved that is in the context of the intro to the video - in the legalistic sense of earning our salvation. Clearly in scripture there are things God tells us are part of our response to God in order to be saved by faith - repentance, baptism, etc. The difference is these are not obeyed as works to earn salvation, rather than are part of a faith response because of what Jesus has done for us. We are still saved by grace. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions on that!
