Controversial two key constitutional provisions Aricle 370 and 35 A are scrapped by present Modi Government on 5 th August 2019, that give the state of Jammu and Kashmir a host of special rights. Some provisions of the Article 370 have been diluted over time. In contrast, the Article-35 A till this date had remained unchanged. Under Article 370, the centre needs the state government's concurrence to apply laws, except in defence, foreign affairs, finance and communications. Article 35 A allows the state legislature to define the Jammu and Kashmir's permanent residents. In this video I have tried to explain how these two Articles came in existence.
