Venezuela was hit by another major power cut which affected most of the country on Monday. Footage shows commuters stranded on the streets as Caracas' metro system collapsed.

Local media reported that 18 out of 23 Venezuela's states lost power. The government blamed 'an electromagnetic attack' for the outage but provided no details saying emergency repair efforts were under way.

It's the fourth major blackout to hit Venezuela in less than five months. A nation-wide power failure left much of the country without electricity for a week in March affecting basic services.
