In Avengers Endgame there is a moment when Thor and Captain America Try to Kill Thanos using Strombreaker. however Thanos is able to overpower them, once he gets free he punches Captain America extremely hard when he is laying on the ground. Captain America did not block the punch so as a result Thanos hit him straight in the face with full power. When I saw this moment for the first time I thought that Captain America might have gotten a mortal injury from that punch judging just by the sound of it. However it turned out that Steve was able to recover and in a couple of days his face completely healed. The question is Why Thanos’ Punches Did Not Kill Captain America given that the mad titan was even more Powerful in Endgame than in Infinity War ? Music:

As we’ve seen previously, Thanos was able to knock out hulk without using the Power Stone which illustrates the extent of his punching power.
On the top of that, in Infinity War, Thanos punches Captian America not as hard as in Endgame but enough to knock him unconscious, however in a few moments his face does not look damaged.
In the comics Thanos is incredibly strong and the limit of his power is not clearly established which only partially applies to the MCU.
Despite having increased physical abilities Rogers is still a mortal man, so how come Thanos punches did not kill him ? There are two resons that make it possible.
First of all, the super solder serum grained Steve superhuman strength and agility but not many people realize that it also gave him a regeneration factor . The fact that Rogers can heal himself was clearly established in the MCu. In the first avenger movie when cap talks to Peggy. He mentions Dr. Erskine said that... the serum wouldn’t just affect my muscles, it would affect my cells. Create a protective system of regeneration and healing.
Therefore Steve Rogers has a healing ability probably not as strong as Wolverine and Hulk have but it’s enough to recover fairly fast from serious injuries. In Incredible Hulk Emil Blonsky received just a small portion of the amount of the serum that Captain America had and he was able to heal completely from life threatening injuries.
Thanos also managed to make a serious cut throught Captian America’s leg however, a few scenes later cap is able to run just fine which again illustrates the effect of the serum and the second factor which I’m about to explain.
In Endgame Thanos punches Cap way harder than he did in Infinity War, so the super solder serum wouldn’t be enough to recover from that kind of damage. It’s also important to remember that this battle is now became personal for Thanos as he said himself, which means that he’s activerly trying to hurt the avengers as opposed to inifinity war whne he was purely interested in the infinity stones. That’s another reason why Thanos punches should cause devastating damage to Steve, but they don’t
Finaly here is the most important factor that can explan Captain America durability.
Earlier in the battle Captain America was able to lift Thor’s hammer which was one of the best moments in the MCU. By lifting Mjolnir Cap actually gained the Power of Thor, since Odin created a double spell while casting Thor away in the first Thor movie. Odin said “Who ever holds this hammer if he’s worthy shall poses the power of Thor”
For that reason by lifting Mjolnir, Steve Rogers acquired Superhuman strength, endurance & resistance to injury as well as the control over lightnings. That’s why Cap is able to stirke Thanos with lightnings using the hammer at the same time.
Since Steve posses the power of Thor , he is able to take Thanos punches without any critical damage especially this last punch that Thanos throws at him before getting the infinity gauntlet.
To conclude, before lifting Thor’s hammer, most of the time Rogers doged of blocked Thanos punches dithe super solder serum allowed Rogers survive Thanos punches however Steve probably would survive direct hits from the mad titan at the end of the battle without having Thor’s durability.
