No Art Pictures - Consequence Of Living (Instrumental Demo)

No Art Pictures - Consequence Of Living (Instrumental Demo) I am creating a new project with 2 friends, called "No Art Pictures", it is a musical project in which we will make songs with styles from the 80's, but several styles mixed. In this demo, I had the idea of mixing techniques from different styles of 80's songs, the guitar with reverb, flanger, chorus & delay, which is based on post-punk, gothic and obscure (unknown) bands from the 80's, such as example Sisters of Mercy, Play Dead, Lowlife, The March Violets & Sad Lovers and Giants. I also use Stock, Aitken & Waterman production techniques for the bassline formulation, it consists of arpeggio sequences and I used the same sound & synthesizer that was used to make the bassline of "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) "from the band Dead Or Alive, made with the PPG Wave synthesizer, so the bass sounds practically the same as the original song! SAW also used the same bass sample in other productions, such as "You Think You're A Man" by Divine. I also use a very famous 80's sampler, called E-MU Emulator II, used by several bands like Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys & Clan of Xymox, but the focus of using this instrument in this demo is to give an darkwave "air", as if it were something like Clan Of Xymox, since his album "Medusa", is basically recorded only with samples & guitar. I also use choir samples from Emulator II to give an Ethereal sound, which was constantly used in darkwave music. Another bonus, is a bassline & solo at the end, I used Roland Promars to give an aspect of "Minimal Wave" songs from the early 80's, this is a style that I'm very passionate about, after all, I really like synthesizers, drum machines and creative songs made with simple things.

The title "Consequence of Living" was chosen by me, as a form of tribute to the unknown song (Like The Wind), in which I look for a long time and never found anything about it. In this song, there is a verse in which it is sung: "Take your consequence of living ...", it's something that I found very poetic and felt that I should use it in something that I did. Soon we will write some lyrics for this song, after all this will not only be an instrumental, but as I was proud of the final result of this demo, I decided to share it with you! Hope you like it :)
