Maruti Suzuki has launched the Alto 800 facelift model at a starting price at ₹ 2.94 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) for the base Standard variant ₹ 3.72 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) for the top VXI variant. The new Alto 800 is powered by the same 796cc, three-cylinder engine which is now BS6 compliant. It develops 47 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 69 Nm @ 3500 rpm with mileage of 22.05 kmpl and it comes with 5-speed manual transmission only.
Maruti Suzuki has also added a bunch of standard safety features to make the Alto a lot more safer than before. It now comes with a driver airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a seatbelt reminder for the driver and co-driver as well as a speed alert system as standard. Buyers can even opt for a passenger airbag right from the base variant itself.
2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is longer than the outgoing car by 15mm , might be due to the redesigned bumpers. The overall height and length, on the other hand, remain unchanged. On the inside, it now comes with a new dashboard layout which features a dual-tone theme like dashboard from the Alto K10. Additionally, the top-spec Alto VXi gets Maruti Smart Play Dock with Bluetooth connectivity which utilize your smartphone as a touch interface for picking calls, music, navigation and many more features.
The Maruti Alto competes with the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-GO fitted with their 800cc engines and the most noteworthy update comes in the form of a new BS 6 compliant 800cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine. However, the claimed fuel efficiency figure of the updated engine has dropped from 24.7kmpl to 22.05kmpl. Currently, it is the only car in its segment that offers a BS 6 petrol engine as well as an optional passenger airbag. Despite the price hike, the Alto is still priced at par with its competition.
Colour Options : Superior White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Cerullan Blue, Mojito Green and new colour Uptown Red.
