New Jersey police dash cam video captured the moment a downed power line burst into flames while in the hands of a Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L) utility worker on Monday morning in Manchester Township. The worker can be seen on video holding on to the wire and jerking it, succeeding in getting it unstuck from the traffic light which it had landed on following a storm. As the wire comes down and eventually hits the ground, it bursts into flames. The worker then drops the wire and leaps back in surprise, before running to safety. The worker wasn't hurt, but seemed shaken up, the officer said. JCP&L operations personnel are reviewing the dash cam video of the fire as part of an investigation into the incident.
