In Chef David Wong’s definition, passion is PURPOSE, passion is the VISION and DREAM far beyond reach. It is something that you’re willing to do things that you DON’T like in order to reach your passion.
“Don’t worry about whether you like it or not, instead, look at where would it brings you to in the future”, he said.
Passion is never about MATERIALS.
Passion enable 2 things:
1. Do things that YOU LOVE.
2. Do things that CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
If your passion is going to bring you nowhere, then your passion is not sustainable.
Here’s the key question: With your passion, is it able to sustain your life? If yes, go ahead.
If your passion is not able to survive you, then put passion at a side, and do something else that can eventually make your passion possible to become a business; a seamless process.
Throughout the process, you’ll be accumulating: experience, skills, connections, knowledge and wealth that enhance your passion-oriented business.
For David, he did not start with passion all along. Survival mode switch his mode to do many things that some, he did not like them. It’s about utilising his strengths to build connections, wealth, and etc. Now, all these has made his passion – oriented life possible and successful.
